Tony commenced his artistic endeavors by painting the colorful and historic homes of his childhood neighborhood of Little Havana, and bringing his art to the public at Cultural Fridays on Calle Ocho. His unique and whimsical renderings led to man commissions of house portraits through South Florida and eventually the rest of the country. Inspired by his activity in Little Havana he has created several collections of humorous vignettes depicting Cuban-American life and commerce.

His style has been described as Primitive Expressionist, his primary mediums are acrylic on canvas and paper. He is currently applying his unique vision to the depicting of emotion using color and form, in his Figures series.
