DetailsVinum XL is a bold adaptation of Riedel's popular Vinum stemware line and it incorporates the same varietal-specific shapes into larger sized silhouettes for a dramatic effect at the table or bar. Developed for big, bold and concentrated wines, Vinum XL is created in leaded crystal and machine blown in Bavaria, Germany. This set includes two Pinot Noir and two champagne glasses.
The Pinot Noir glasses were created during several workshops with the famed Oregon Producers, the shape of this glass clearly shows the fresh compact fruit of North West Pinot Noir and highlights the irresistible sweetness, whilst perfectly balancing the acidity and deemphasing the alcohol to create a perfect picture of the wine. The champagne glasses were developed from a 1967 model designed by Claus Riedel, originally created for the World Exhibition in Montreal, and rediscovered in 2006 during a tasting panel with Moet and Chandon. Over many weeks, the expert tasters searched for a glass which would be the best "transmitter" to highlight qualities of their 2000 Vintage. Ultimately, the glass of choice was the Vinum XL which Moet and Chandon selected above all others to present their legendary 2000 selection.Measurements
