This vintage-style match box, just like the old-time lacquer boxes, closes shut with a pleasing snap. This box features an oriental depiction of Quan Yin. Quan Yin carries the Goddess and Divine Mother aspect of Buddhism. Her name translates to "She who harkens to the cries of the world." On the box Quan Yin is represented as having sixteen arms. Each hand either contains a different cosmic symbol or is expressing a specific mudra. Her front cupped hands form the Yoni Mudra which symbolized the womb as the door of entry to this world. Each box includes matches and a striker on the side.
